Natural & Protective Hair Care Guidelines
Service Description
The type of cornrow base used depends on your chosen style and the condition of your hair. Cornrow base Clients with a full head of hair will have a different cornrow base compared to those with alopecia or hair loss. Each base is customized to ensure comfort, longevity, and a natural look for your wig. Products to Use: Conditioner and natural oils. If your hair is locked or heavily tangled and cannot be separated, scissors may be necessary to clear the affected areas. Ask Yourself: Is your hair long? Is it intertwining? Is it matted or forming locs? To Maintain Healthy Natural or Protective Styles: Do not leave hair in a single style for more than 8 weeks without proper clearing and cleaning. Do not take down or undo a style without using a liquid product (water, conditioner, or oil). Avoid using a fine-tooth comb to detangle. Do not leave hair unstyled for long periods to prevent matting and unwanted loc formation. Important: Failure to follow these guidelines can result in: Severe matting at the roots or ends The need for a big chop or barber haircut Choppy scissor cuts attempting to remove knots Significant hair loss while trying to save remaining hair Recommended Care: Take down or undo styles every 6 weeks. Styles left in over 8 weeks increase the risk of matting and make detangling more difficult. During takedown: Apply oil and conditioner to soften the hair cuticle Finger-detangle first, then use a wide-tooth comb gently before shampooing After detangling: Wash hair thoroughly Apply a deep conditioning treatment (essential for healthy hair) Comb gently and allow hair to air dry or blow dry before restyling Following these steps will protect your hair, maintain softness, prevent breakage, and preserve healthy growth.
